Dear San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral (DBH) Staff, Working for San Bernardino County has been the highlight of my career as a social worker. The past six years, as the Behavioral Health Director, have taught me a great deal about partnership, collaboration, and leadership. The past 13 years have been filled with the highest highs and the lowest lows and I am humbled by the perseverance and dedication that I have witnessed in our DBH staff as well as our county family. San Bernardino County has been a shining example of how effective we can all be if we work together on shared goals without worrying about who gets the glory, and for that I will be forever thankful. But all good things must come to an end and as such I will be leaving my position as the Behavioral Health Director for San Bernardino County effective Dec. 16, 2021. I have taken a similar position in Orange County, closer to home that will allow for a more realistic work/family balance, taking my own advice on self-care. This will also allow me to do what I love, which is work for more effective behavioral health access for our most vulnerable population in a system that actively supports wellness over all else. Thank you for the role you have played in wellness for all, Veronica Kelley, DSW c: San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Diana Alexander, Assistant Executive Officer, Department Operations Members, Behavioral Health Commission, San Bernardino County Members, Association of Community Based Organizations Happy Veterans Day! To all who have served, we are thankful for your service and dedication to our country. DBH is proud to have these veterans and others on our team. Thank you all for your service! ❤️💙
