Customer Service Week Oct. 4-8

To thank you for your hard work, DBH employees are invited to participate in these fun casual dress days! NOTE: Staff must be professional in their attire choices. For those who do not want to participate, standard dress code policies must be adhered to.
  • Super Hero Monday (Oct. 4) - Come dressed in your best super hero attire or accessories.
  • Team Tuesday (Oct. 5) - Coordinate with your fellow team of employees and wear the same color or wear your favorite sports team jersey (football, dirt bike, basketball, etc.)
  • Rock Star Wednesday (Oct. 6) - Come dressed as your favorite rock star or band.
  • Happy Holiday Thursday (Oct. 7) - Dress for your favorite holiday - no matter what time of the year it is.
  • Feel Good Friday (Oct. 8) - Show your DBH spirit by wearing a lime green, purple, or DBH shirt!
Want to win a prize? Employees who participate in the casual dress activity for the day and submit their info on the form below before 11 a.m. each day will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize! Winners will be announced daily in a web blast! PLUS, the program with the most percentage of participants at the end of the week will win a paleta party pack! (Don't forget to let us know by using the form below)!

Deputy Director of Substance Use Disorder and Recovery Services (SUDRS) Announcement

I am pleased to officially welcome Jennifer Alsina to the position of Deputy Director of Substance Use Disorder and Recovery Services (SUDRS) effective September 11, 2021.

Ms. Alsina earned her addiction studies certificate at San Bernardino Valley College, a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at Chaminade University of Honolulu, and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Redlands. Ms. Alsina also completed the Department’s Leadership Development Program and San Bernardino County’s Management Leadership Academy.

Ms. Alsina began her career with the County in 2007 as a Public Service Employee with the Office of Cultural Competence & Ethnic Services (OCCES). She promoted to a Social Worker II the following year. In 2011, she promoted to a Staff Analyst I and in 2013 she promoted to a Mental Health Education Consultant in OCCES. In 2013, she oversaw Alcohol and Drug Services as an acting Program Manager I and promoted to Program Manager I in 2014.

As a Program Manager I, Ms. Alsina started the Family Stabilization Program, a collaboration between the Department and the Transitional Assistance Department. Ms. Alsina also has collaborated with community based and County partners to implement Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) services, share best practices and improve quality of care. Ms. Alsina served as an interim Program Manager II in 2019 and then promoted to a Program Manager II in 2020.

Ms. Alsina has continued to oversee SUDRS Administration including all Department of Health Care Services monitoring, DMC-ODS EQRO and the DMC-OD NACT, Cal-WORKS and Children and Family Services programs related to case management and SUD treatment as a Program Manager II.
