Media Inquires PROTOCOL

As a County employee you may be contacted by news media for comments or information regarding projects or operations in your department, therefore it is important to follow the proper protocol.

It is an essential function of the County to ensure the public received accurate information about County services and programs. Often, there are multiple factors that go into public information or media requests, responding without the full context to even a seemingly simple news media inquiry could result in an inaccurate or incomplete depiction of County services and programs. 

It is the role of the County Administrative Office Communications Team to ensure perspective from other departments are looked at and included in all public communications. 

For that reason, all inquiries from the news media should be directed to DBH's Public Relations Coordinator, Miranda Canseco, and your direct supervisor/Deputy Director. The request will then be sent to the DBH Director’s Office and County Communications for a comprehensive response.
